Yuuto Futaboshi, aged 30, lost his parents in a tragic accident when he was young. He resides in a spacious traditional Japanese home with his grandfather, Kozo. Despite never having held a job, Yuuto supported himself by working in real estate while caring for his ailing grandfather and his two beloved cats, Kuro and Char. After Kozo's sudden passing from a stroke, Yuuto found himself facing the challenge of managing the estate alone, with the help of Yumi Hirose from Yotsuba Real Estate. Yumi explained that in order to cover the inheritance tax, Yuuto would need to sell off most of the property. With no source of income, Yumi proposed the idea of transforming the house into a shared living space where Yuuto and his cats could coexist with other residents. To Yuuto, his feline companions were his family, raising questions of whether they could adapt to communal living and if Yuuto himself could adjust to sharing his home with others.
