The 8th installment of NHK Yorudora follows the journey of Yoshino Natsuko as she enrolls in a training program to become an okami, or mistress, at a traditional Japanese inn. Unhappy with being reassigned within her company, Natsuko decides to pursue this new opportunity. Despite her physical strength, she struggles with being overly curious. Throughout the program, she faces challenges such as sleep deprivation, demanding guests, mastering the inn's cuisine, and learning how to properly prepare futon. With participants dropping out daily, the question remains - will Natsuko be able to persevere and discover her true self through this demanding training?

Despite wanting to abandon Jin Yu, she was advised by an opera performer to raise her daughter to the best of her ability. Jin Yu faced numerous challenges and difficulties throughout her life, including being denied education and having to work in a factory at a young age to support her family due to poverty. Despite facing hardships, Jin Yu discovered a talent for writing and pursued it to provide for her family. Her husband, however, was unsupportive and abusive, leading Jin Yu to strive for independence and success as a scriptwriter. Despite contemplating suicide at one point, Jin Yu was encouraged by a journalist named Pan Li Hua to continue living and take control of her own destiny. Eventually, Jin Yu overcame numerous challenges and ended up marrying a man who shared her passion for scriptwriting and Cantonese opera.
