The Kidnapping Day(誘拐の日)
The narrative unfolds with the main character, Shinjo Masamune, planning to abduct Nanase Rin, the daughter of a wealthy hospital director, based on his wife's suggestion, to secure funds for their daughter’s heart surgery. Though he hesitates until the last moment, his wife encourages him through remote access to the car, guiding him closer to the director’s residence. Just as he approaches, a girl suddenly steps in front of his vehicle. He narrowly avoids hitting her by slamming on the brakes, only to find that the girl has fainted and collapsed. This girl turns out to be Rin, whom he intended to kidnap. Shinjo is surprised by how easily the abduction occurs, but when Rin regains consciousness, she has no memory of her identity. He quickly fabricates a story, claiming to be her father, and is compelled to maintain this façade. However, shortly after, Rin’s parents, the hospital director and his wife, are murdered by an unknown attacker. Shinjo becomes a prime suspect in the killings and finds himself in a precarious situation. Meanwhile, the abducted Rin proves to be a prodigy, fluent in multiple languages, intelligent, and full of insightful ideas. The two experience a role reversal, with Shinjo critiquing the team's leader and Rin for their stubbornness while also receiving her guidance on how to navigate their predicament. They are pursued not only by law enforcement but also by mysterious individuals intent on capturing Rin for undisclosed reasons. The story chronicles the extraordinary escape of Shinjo and Rin, who are united by their intertwined fates.
