Jin Yu faced numerous challenges and difficulties throughout her life, including being denied education and having to work in a factory at a young age to support her family due to poverty. Despite facing hardships, Jin Yu discovered a talent for writing and pursued it to provide for her family. Her husband, however, was unsupportive and abusive, leading Jin Yu to strive for independence and success as a scriptwriter. Despite contemplating suicide at one point, Jin Yu was encouraged by a journalist named Pan Li Hua to continue living and take control of her own destiny. Eventually, Jin Yu overcame numerous challenges and ended up marrying a man who shared her passion for scriptwriting and Cantonese opera.
